The public bath

Most individual residences in ‘Akká did not have bathrooms, so people went to public baths. Besides serving one's need for cleanliness, such baths acted as gathering places for the citizenry. At times during His years behind the walls of the prison city, Bahá’u’lláh was allowed to go to the public bath.
